Wawasee250 Is Coming: A Lake-Wide Celebration Leading Into America’s 250th
We’re kicking off something special for 2026.
The Wawasee Property Owners Association is proud to launch Wawasee250 — a summer-long community celebration designed to unite the Lake Wawasee area around pride, gratitude, education, and anticipation as we approach America’s 250th birthday on July 4, 2026.
This is a once-in-a-generation year, and Wawasee250 is our way of bringing the entire lake community together to celebrate what makes Lake Wawasee so exceptional — the people, the traditions, and the shared stewardship that keeps this place thriving.
The First Signal: A Commemorative Wawasee250 Flag for Members
Picture of Wawasee250 Flag
As part of the kickoff, every WPOA Member and Community Member (non-lake resident member) will receive a commemorative Wawasee250 flag with the 2026 WPOA directory.
Size: 2' x 3'
Designed for: display along piers and shorelines
Purpose: create a visible, lake-wide sense of unity and momentum all year long
Think of it as our shared “we’re in this together” moment — a simple, powerful way to show pride in the lake and excitement for what’s coming.
What Wawasee250 Will Be About
Wawasee250 will build through the summer with programming intended to bring neighbors together for an education- and community-focused experience, including:
Community moments that unite the lake (more to come as plans are finalized)
Recognition of WPOA members and donors who make WPOA programming possible
A spotlight on the work behind one of Lake Wawasee’s most cherished traditions: Lake Wawasee Fireworks
The flag is the first signal that something big is coming — and yes, we’re planning a fireworks experience that will feel truly historic for Lake Wawasee.
WPOA has always been about protecting what makes this lake special and strengthening the community around it — and Wawasee250 is both a celebration and a thank-you to everyone who supports that mission.
Why Membership Matters Right Now
Wawasee250 is only possible because WPOA is member-supported.
Membership fuels the work that benefits the entire lake community — from stewardship and safety initiatives to communications and community events. If you’ve been meaning to renew, join, or encourage a neighbor to become a member, this is the moment.
Members and Community Members will receive the Wawasee250 flag with the 2026 directory — and you’ll be directly supporting everything it represents.
How You Can Help Build the Momentum
Here are a few easy ways to support the kickoff:
Fly your Wawasee250 flag this spring!
Renew or join WPOA (and invite a friend, neighbor, or off-lake supporter to become a Community Member)
Fly the flag when it arrives — let’s light up the shoreline with a shared message
Watch for announcements as milestones roll out through 2026
Step up to help — volunteering and sponsorship support will be a big part of making this lake-wide celebration shine
More Details Coming Soon
This is just the beginning. We’ll be sharing updates and milestones as plans roll out throughout 2026.
Thank you for supporting WPOA — and for being part of what’s ahead.
Let’s make 2026 a year Lake Wawasee will never forget.
