WPOA Donates Trees to DNR in Appreciation of Ongoing Partnership
The Wawasee Property Owners Association (WPOA) recently donated three redbud trees to the Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) as a gesture of gratitude for the strong partnership shared between the two organizations.
The DNR works closely with our Lake Association throughout the year, particularly through joint efforts with the Lake Patrol to promote safety and responsible lake use. In addition, the DNR generously allows use of the public park at the Hatchery Road boat launch as the staging area for WPOA’s annual Fourth of July fireworks display. This event has become a cherished tradition for both residents and visitors.
“The DNR has been an outstanding partner in keeping our lake safe and supporting events that bring the community together,” said Chris Campbell of the WPOA. “This donation is a small but heartfelt way for us to say thank you and give something back to a space we all value.”
The three redbuds were planted on DNR-managed land at the Wawasee Public Boat Launch on Hatchery Road, where several trees have been lost in recent storms. The WPOA hopes the new trees will not only add beauty to the area but also stand as a lasting symbol of cooperation between the DNR and the lake community
